Swans Offshore Energy Park complies with the International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code, and has a 2.4m high security fence.

Swans is located in Wallsend on the North Bank of the River Tyne, six miles from the North Sea and the Port of Tyne principal gateway to the UK. It is also within easy reach of largest offshore wind farm, Dogger Bank, which is only 96 nautical miles from the site.
The site is linked to the wider road network allowing easy access to the A1(M) and A19 trunk roads, as well as Newcastle upon Tyne city centre and Newcastle International Airport.
